Natyakulam, situated at Kothari Garh, Bhankrota, Near Delhi Public School, Ajmer Road, Jaipur is almost 15 km. away from Jaipur city. Surrounded by greenery and part of a big farm house, Natyakulam his its administration office, classes and hostel in three buildings containing 26 rooms and vast dree for games and sports.
Natyakulam, a regd. cultural institution is situated at Ajmer Road, Jaipur, almost 20 km. away from the city. Quite calm and peaceful ambience, natural amenity and shrine like surroundings provide most appropriate atmosphere for an Aashram, where training in Indian Theatre is being imparted according to Guru-Shishya Parampara, free of cost to talented destitute children 8-15 years of age.
This residential training centre is a small segment of a very large farm house – Kothari Garh, Bhankrota, Ajmer Road, Jaipur owned by a renowned business family of Rajasthan, known for their charitable social concern including establishment of Mahaveer Cancer Hospital, Jaipur and many other social and educational institutions.
The space of Natyakulam encompasses 25 big rooms and a large landscape to accommodate more than 100 children at one point of time.
Since its inception, Natyakulam is engaged in various significant theatre activities for adults also. Besides production of plays, academic aspect of Indian Theatre is emphatically dealt with. Seminars, festivals, analysis of text and subtext, study and research on Asian Theatre are integral part of our curriculam.

What do we do?

Shri B.R.Bhargava has made an extraordinary impact as director for THEATRE BY BLIND. His organization, Natyakulam is a residential performing arts center for Visually Impaired with free lodging and boarding facilities.

Ever since 2013, his innovative work in this field is regarded as a great leap in contemporary Indian Theatre. Imparting training in visual arts to visually impaired is a mind boggling task, which has been attempted very successfully and artistically too.

He has directed three plays with visually impaired namely “Jashn-E-Eid“, “Anant Ki Aankhen” and “Nandan Katha“. It was evident through these productions that a new technique has been developed and some new devices have been incorporated for acting by blind. A perfect code of expression has been prepared through various sounds of musical instruments and rhythm. This provides an easy course to these artistes where they are comfortable. The emotional sequences performed by these visually impaired are surprisingly artistic and receives overwhelmed response of the audience. They have a wonderful combination of Bhaav, Raag and Taal.

Since his contribution to the field of theatre-direction is unique and outstanding, he deserves the SNA Award for Theatre-Direction.

दृष्टिबाधितों का रंगमंच

नाट्यकुलम संसथान, जयपुर का कलात्मक प्रयोग पुनः प्रारम्भ

यह अविश्वसनीय सा लगता है कि रंगमंच जो कि विशुद्ध रूप से दृश्य कला है, उसे दृष्टिबाधित कलाकार कैसे प्रदर्शित कर सकते हैं?
सम्भवतः सम्पूर्ण विश्व में इस प्रकार का दीर्घकालीन प्रयोग संभव नहीं हो सका है। ऐसे दुर्लभ, चुनौतिपूर्ण और असंभव से लगने वाले कलात्मक सृजनकार्य को नाट्यकुलम विगत दस वर्षो से नियमित रूप से सफलतापूर्वक कर रहा है।
दृष्टिबाधितों के रंगमंच का पहला चरण सन् 2013 में मुंशी प्रेमचन्द की विश्व प्रसिद्ध कहानी ‘ईदगाह’ के नाट्यरूपान्तर ‘जश्न-ए-ईद’ के शीर्षक से जयपुर के जवाहर कला केन्द्र के मुख्य सभागार में हुआ। इसकी आशातीत सफलता से प्रेरित होकर विशुद्ध रूप से दृष्टिबाधित कलाकारों द्वारा दो अन्य मौलिक नाटक प्रस्तुत किये गये जो पूरी तरह से दृष्टिबाधित बालकों की व्यथा-कथा पर आधारित थे। ये नाटक थे – ‘अनन्त की आँखें’ तथा ‘नन्दन कथा’। इन तीन नाटकों के अनेक प्रदर्शन राजस्थान के अतिरिक्त दिल्ली-आगरा से गोवा तक अत्यन्त सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित किये जा चुके हैं। जिन्होनें प्रबुद्ध दर्शक वर्ग में अपार प्रशंसा अर्जित की है।
कोरोना संक्रमण काल के तीन वर्ष के व्यवधान के बाद नाट्यकुलम संस्थान फिर से ‘दृष्टिबाधितों का रंगमंच’ प्रारम्भ कर रहा है, जिसके लिए दस वर्ष की आयु से लेकर पच्चीस वर्ष तक आयु के बालकों-युवकों का प्रवेश आरम्भ हो चुका है। चुने गये कलाकारों को ब्रेल लिपि द्वारा स्कूली शिक्षा तथा नाटकों का प्रशिक्षण निःशुल्क दिया जाता है। कलाकारों के रहने, खाने तथा प्रषिक्षण की निःशुल्क व्यवस्था है।
नाट्य प्रशिक्षण संस्था के कुलगुरु श्री भारत रत्न भार्गव द्वारा दिया जा रहा है जो आकाशवाणी के केन्द्र में नाटक विभाग के प्रोग्राम एग्जीक्यूटिव थे, तथा बी.बी.सी. लन्दन में वह विदेशी विभाग सेवा में हिन्दी के प्रसारक रह चुके हैं। केन्द्रीय संगीत नाटक अकादमी, नई दिल्ली में नाटक विभाग के उपसचिव पद से सेवानिवृत होने के बाद उन्होनें प्रतिभा सम्पन्न दृष्टिबाधितों के सर्वांगिण विकास के लिए नाट्यकुलम संस्थान की स्थापना की। राजस्थान सरकार द्वारा रजिस्टर्ड यह संस्था राज्य सरकार अथवा केन्द्र सरकार के किसी भी विभाग द्वारा आर्थिक सहायता ग्रहण नहीं करती है और समस्त संचालन संस्था के संरक्षक श्री प्रकाश चंद्र कोठारी की देखरेख में भांकरोटा स्थित कोठारी गढ़ परिसर में, अजमेर रोड से किया जा रहा है।
